"Wonderful." He grinned. "Now leave me alone."

There were ways. A dark magic that her vampire family had bestowed upon her at birth. She'd been able to seduce any human being, and sway their minds to obey her whims.

... A hum escaped her softly parted lips, and she lost her venomous hatred from before. Instead, she took on a kind mannerism, and approached him once more. Eliss took slow, purposeful steps. Standing only a few feet from him, she stopped, eyes lit with her dark-magical kindness.

"Are you sure you want to be alone?" Dark magic laced through her words.

He felt something more than just words coming from her mouth. It swayed his thinking. It was like a magical... burp or something. He wasn't so sure if he did want her to leave. But then he remembered that she had just tried to forcefully take his blood by biting him.

I wish I could see through her magic words.

He felt his pulse beat through his birthmark on his palm. But it didn't feel like blood was passing through it. It felt like something else was flowing away from it.

Micah felt his mind clear.

"Yes, I"m sure."

Eliss resisted the frustration that began to grow within her. Carefully, cautiously... she slinked to him, and stood at his side. Her bright green eyes searched his face. Eliss whispered in his ear.

"You want me here... don't you?" She drudged up as much of her charm as she could, and tainted her words with it.

The half-blood vampire reached for Sloth's hand... the one that possessed the odd growth.

This time he didn't feel anything from her.

"No, not really." He pulled his hand away.

She was tired of toying with him! Dead, alive... no matter! As long as he quenched her thirst. Eliss moved around to face him. The corner of her mouth tipped up in a slight smirk, then with all her strength she head-butted him.

Micah grunted as he fell backwards. Then he gave a smirk himself. Finally some excitement. He got back up and took a defensive stance. He hadn't fought much, but he was a quick read.

A defensive stance. Nice.

Eliss didn't waste the moment, but flew at him to deliver an impressive blow to his stomach with her knee.

Micah first grabbed the knee flying at his gut with one hand then the girl's neck with the other. He shifted to the side, using the momentum to throw her against the wall.

Oh crap.

How had -this- happened?

Eliss felt his choke-hold on her, and she couldn't help but allow a weird noise from escaping her throat. He slammed her against the wall. The pain ripped up her spine.

"Let me go!" She rasped, though it was a pitiful demand.

Geez, I wish she'd just calm down already or at least leave.

"Uh, I'm thinking not."

(Could you have Eliss at least consider calming down and/or leaving?)

(Mhmm, sure thing.)

Eliss's body went semi-limp due to the lack of oxygen. Her anger died down, and she stood there... half-conscious. As she grew calmer... her vampire nature dissipated a bit.

"Let... me go... please."

His initial reaction was to -not- let her go. But when he'd wanted her to calm down, he felt a connection between his hand and her. He felt the same flowing coming from his hemangioma. It was like he was influencing her. What was going on?

Without actually thinking about it he loosened his grip and started to step back.

She'd been let go. As soon as he'd loosened his grip, Eliss hacked. Gasping for air, she stood there until finally regaining her composure.

"W-what just happened?" She'd felt some sort of foreign power when he'd held her by the throat. That power, it had awakened her to a fear. For the force from him was foreign to her.

"I don't know."

A word surfaced in his mind. Wiham. It was the Arabic word for birthmarks. The literal translation was "wishes". Just then Micah had wished that she would calm down. And before that he wished that he could see through her swaying words.

"I think I just calmed you down."

Fear struck her then. He could... control her? What?

Eliss stared. No, no. She gawked at him, unable to fully grasp what he'd just said. She'd always had control over everything in her life. But, he'd just swayed her by some power that wasn't the dark magic that she knew.

"How is that... possible?" Eliss couldn't bring herself to be angry. Too much fear existed.

He tried to think of something simple. The door. He could open the door.

"I'm gonna make that door open."

He looked at it in a focused way.

I wish that door would open.

Nothing. It stayed closed. It didn't even budge.

"I wish that door would open," he said clearly, but still nothing happened.

"... It didn't open, genius."

"Clearly." He sighed again. "I wish I knew how to work this thing."

Then it hit him. His birthmark. That flowing feeling that came from it. He had to be touching whatever he wanted to affect.

He walked over to the door this time and pressed his right palm against the door.

I wish this door would open.

He heard the rusted metal grind as the door swung inward. Then he looked at the girl and chuckled.

Eliss knew then as she watched the door swing open on it's own that she wanted to know this boy. He possessed something abstract, and strange. She couldn't sway him, she couldn't kill him... no. His power helped him with that.

"You've just impressed me."

"What is that... on your hand, anyways?"

"It's a hemangioma, a type of birthmark. It's a tumor of endothelial cells. It's rare for hemangioma's to not resolve themselves by the time the child is age ten though."

Micah wondered if this was what happened when a hemangioma didn't resolve itself.
