At the moment:

"And how much longer will this keep getting stronger? I wonder what she's doing when I'm singing myself to sleep. Cause he's a faker, so see you later. I wonder when you'll realize that she means a lot more to me."

"You are the strength, That keeps me walking. You are the hope, That keeps me trusting. You are the light, To my soul. You are my purpose, You're everything. And how can I stand here with You, And not be moved by You? Would you tell me, How could it be better than this?" ~ Lifehouse's "Everything"

Nobody plans to be half a world away at times like these, so I sat alone and waited out the night. The best part of what has happened was the part I must have missed. So I'm asking you to shine it on and stick around. I'm not writing my goodbyes.

I have so many, I'll probably end up posting alot here.

well i'd like to think i'm the mess you'd wear with pride.
like some empty dress on the bed you've layed out for tonight.
maybe i'll tell you sometime.

time.sometime.

and you were right.

right.
you were right.
outside,by your doorstep
in a worn out suit and tie.
i'll wait
for you to come down
where you'll find me
where we'll shine.

oh,

Right now, I really love the lyrics to "What Do I Know of Holy" by Addison Road (well I love the music too, but since this is about lyrics).

I made You promises a thousand times
I tried to hear from Heaven
But I talked the whole time
I think I made You too small
I never feared You at all No
If You touched my face would I know You?
Looked into my eyes could I behold You?

What do I know of You
Who spoke me into motion?
Where have I even stood
But the shore along Your ocean?
Are You fire? Are You fury?
Are You sacred? Are You beautiful?
What do I know? What do I know of Holy?

I guess I thought that I had figured You out
I knew all the stories and I learned to talk about
How You were mighty to save
Those were only empty words on a page
Then I caught a glimpse of who You might be
The slightest hint of You brought me down to my knees

What do I know of You
Who spoke me into motion?
Where have I even stood
But the shore along Your ocean?
Are You fire? Are You fury?
Are You sacred? Are You beautiful?
What do I know? What do I know of Holy?

What do I know of Holy?
What do I know of wounds that will heal my shame?
And a God who gave life "its" name?
What do I know of Holy?
Of the One who the angels praise?
All creation knows Your name
On earth and heaven above
What do I know of this love?

What do I know of You
Who spoke me into motion?
Where have I even stood
But the shore along Your ocean?
Are You fire? Are You fury?
Are You sacred? Are You beautiful?
What do I know? What do I know of Holy?

What do I know of Holy?
What do I know of Holy?

Most of Relient K's lyrics from MMHMM have stuck with me for a LONG time, but the prime one off that album is And this life sentence that I'm serving, I admit that I'm every bit deserving, but the beauty of grace is that it makes life not fair.

Also Switchfoot's song Yet has some great lyrics. If it doesn't break your heart it isn't love. If it doesn't break your heart it's not enough. It's when you're broken down, with your insides coming out. That's when you find out what your heart's made of.

As far as "worship songs" go, How He Loves has some great poetic lyrics. The standout would be Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes, If his grace is an ocean, we're all sinking. And heaven meets earth like an unforeseen kiss, and my heart turns violently inside of my chest. I don't have time to maintain these regrets when I think about the way that He loves us

We are His portion and He is our prize
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes
If grace is an ocean, we're all sinking
So Heaven meets earth like an unforeseen kiss
And my heart turns violently inside of my chest
I don't have time to maintain these regrets
When I think about the way
That He loves us
Oh, how He loves us
Oh, how He loves.

The Violet Burning- The Killing

Can you feel the pain he feels
As the nails go through his hands?
Driving them in deeper
Bloody red hands
A crown of thorns on his head
"Come down from there!" they cried.
"You saved others, can't you save yourself?"

Blindfolded, the soldiers demand prophecy
"Who is hitting you now?"
"Who is hitting you now?"
"Why don't you tell us? I thought you were the Son of God"
"Who is hitting you now?"
"Take him away!"

Oh they're killing my Lord
Oh oh they're killing my Lord
Like a lamb in the slaughter is sheared
So he never spoke a word
Oh oh they're killing my Lord

By the power of God
Day became as dark as night
The curtain torn in two
"It is finished!"
They spit on him and mock his name
Very much like the world today
Beat him, laugh at him
"Ha ha ha ha"

Oh they're killing my Lord
Oh oh they're killing my Lord
Like a lamb in the slaughter is sheared
So he never spoke a word
Oh oh they're killing my Lord

Can you feel the pain he feels
As the nails go through his hands?
Cause they're driving them in deeper
Deeper deeper deeper
Can you feel it?
Can you feel it?

Back and forth
If my heart was a compass you'd be north
Risk it all cause I'll catch you when you fall
Wherever you go
If my heart was a house you'd be home

There’s still a little bit of your taste in my mouth
There’s still a little bit of you laced with my doubt
It’s still a little hard to say what's going on

There’s still a little bit of your ghost your witness
There’s still a little bit of your face i haven't kissed
You step a little closer each day
That I can´t say what´s going on

Stones taught me to fly
Love, it taught me to lie
Life, it taught me to die
So it's not hard to fall
When you float like a cannonball

There’s still a little bit of your song in my ear
There’s still a little bit of your words i long to hear
You step a little closer to me
So close that I can´t see what´s going on

Stones taught me to fly
Love taught me to lie
Life taught me to die
So its not hard to fall
When you float like a cannon.

Stones taught me to fly
Love, it taught me to cry
So come on courage, teach me to be shy
'Cause its not hard to fall,
And I don't want to scare him
Its not hard to fall
And i don't want to lose
Its not hard to grow
When you know that you just don't know

Damien Rice, Cannonball

Totally describes my love life right now.

Baby don't give up
We're the kind of folks who will always live
Right around the corner from something big
Yeah, yeah, yeah
So baby come on home
You can be the girl on my telephone
And will be your lion made of stone
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Come on home
Yeah, yeah, yeah

It's been one of those kinds of days
And i feel so out of place
And i hate everything, everything
I hate everything but you

Baby when we're right
I don't mind the sun, i don't mind the rain
Or businessmen who think they know everything
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Everything
Yeah, yeah, yeah

No one really understands my baby, if you don't
Let's not fight, just turn the lights off, baby you're all I want

It's been one of those kinds of days
And the whole world is on my case
And I hate everything, everything
I hate everything but you

Derek Webb "I Hate Everything (But You)"

Queen's "39." Yeah, rock and roll musicians singing a folksy song about time dilation:

In the year of '39
Assembled here the volunteers
In the days when lands were few.
Here the ship sailed out into the blue and sunny mornin',
The sweetest sight ever seen.
And the night followed day,
And the storytellers say
That the score brave souls inside
For many a lonely day
Sailed across the milky seas
Ne'er looked back, never feared, never cried.

Don't you hear my call
Though you're many years away?
Don't you hear me calling you?
Write your letters in the sand
For the day I take your hand
In the land that our grandchildren knew.

In the year of '39
Came a ship in from the blue,
The volunteers came home that day.
And they bring good news
Of a world so newly born,
Though their hearts so heavily weigh.
For the earth is old and grey
To a new home we'll away,
But my love this cannot be,
For so many years have gone
Though I'm older but a year
Your mother's eyes from your eyes cry to me.

Don't you hear my call
Though you're many years away?
Don't you hear me calling you?
Write your letters in the sand
For the day I'll take your hand
In the land that our grandchildren knew.

Don't you hear my call
Though you're many years away?
Don't you hear me calling you?
All your letters in the sand
Cannot heal me like your hand,
For my life
Still ahead.
Pity me.
